Betteraves Sucrées

150405gm10doggy

After lunch nobody is in a mood for jumping back to work, sometimes you just have to indulge in some sinful abuse to feel good and willing. He-who-is-always-so-generous gets the pastries (there is a touch of gold on his) and I order the coffee at Café de la Mairie on Saint Sulpice Square.

Pierre Hermé makes some of the most delicious surprising and delicate desserts this side of earth, if the colored and unexpected combinations this maestro invents send shivers down your spine here are a few pictures to keep you drooling until your next visit. And please appreciate the huge packaging which contains our individual deserts : It's christmas again !!

Wild strawberries flavored marshmallows, light raspberry mousse, soft cake, fresh ripe strawberries bites, sweet  bites of red beet and fresh strawberries coulis in a glass pot. It was fresh, tasty and new, nowhere near as risky as the white truffle flavored macarrons, just a pure moment of munchable bliss.

On the way to Loic's place, near Saint Lazare, I walk slowly enjoying each and every breath I take.
No need to rush anywhere anymore.

At the end of the day, as we walk in the great departement store area, Etienne Daho is having a meet and greet session at Fnac Saint Lazare while, just one block further, on rue de Provence, tv trucks and a crowd of random curious parisians looks at the firefighters on the site of the still fuming hotel that burnt last night, killing at least 20 people.

I need confort and I 'll get it.
