La Branche Musée

Nothing is better than a busy day.

I'll skip the visit to Ikea, but going there was pure hell, I forget too easily how much a car (and a traffic jam) can drive you crazy.

Coffee with Michel was great, he was with his boyfriend, Sebastien, who is working on the life and work of painter Helene Riviére from Toulouse. It's all about a simple life, landscapes with more than 2/3 of sky and chicken with their babies.

Art, it's what Les Abattoirs is all about. Dish of the day : Fernand Léger sculptures, Pierre Soulages paintings, Elyia and Emilia Kabakov installation (strange and poetic) and pieces from the Société Générale contemporary art collection.

Isolation, it's in your mind.

My brother was not in a great mood when I opened his bedroom door to say hello.

In the end I managed to pull Yannick to Alexis HK concert at Café Rex, we loved it completely, his universe is fun, kitsch and poetic. Unlike all the other singer from the current "Nouvelle Chanson Française",he is not talking about his inner self all the time and his stories are really original. Among my favorite are his cover of MC Solaar's "Nouveau Western"and the hilarious yet very precise cover of "Like A Virgin" in french over a Brassens style guitar air. Pure delight on disc, perfect and fun on stage, the tour continues in Paris (among other dates) on May the 12th.
